Connection infrastructures for the Renewable Hydrogen Plant in As Pontes
H2Pole S.L., part of the Reganosa Group, is developing a renewable hydrogen project with industrial capacity in the municipality of As Pontes de García Rodríguez. The hydrogen (H2) generated will be transported from the new plant through new hydrogen pipelines, either for connection to the natural gas transport network or for supply to a user through a dedicated line. Together with Virtus, which will carry out the engineering of the hydrogen pipelines, Izharia will design the electrical lines for connection to the grid.
The project proposed by H2Pole S.L., part of the Reganosa Group, requires a 132 kV high-voltage power line to supply the planned hydrogen plant. Two possible alternatives have been developed for this line:
LSAT 132kV H2POLE – SET O TESOURO.
The line of this project called "LSAT 132 kV H2POLE - SET O TESOURO" is planned as an underground line with a length of 252 metres through a circuit with conductor type XLPE 76/132 kV 1X1200 Al + H165 with which 156.4 MW can be transported.
LSAT 132KV H2POLE – SET AS PONTES.
The line of this project called "LSAT 132 kV H2POLE - SET AS PONTES" is designed as an underground line with a total length of 4,641 metres. The first section to the As Pontes sectioning centre consists of a 2,219 metre circuit with conductor type XLPE 76/132 kV 1×800 Al + H165 in order to transport 156.4 MW to the H2POLE hydrogen plant. The second section connects the As Pontes sectioning centre with the existing As Pontes substation, with which all the possible energy that could reach the sectioning centre is discharged into the grid and energy from As Pontes is transported to the hydrogen plant by means of a circuit with conductor type XLPE 76/132 kV 1×1600 Al + H250, which transports approximately 207.4 MW over a length of 2,422 metres. The intermediate sectioning centre will be used to evacuate the energy from future wind farms associated with the consumption of the hydrogen plant, and thus be able to evacuate the production of these farms both to the hydrogen plant itself (for self-consumption) and to the REE substation located at the As Pontes thermal power plant (S/E Puentes G.R. 400kV), as the case may be.
